Post-Crisis Financial Regulation: Concrete Steps to Implement a Smart Regulation to Support the Global Economic Growth

The global financial crisis led to a global awareness about the need to reinforce financial regulation. New authorities, new capital requirements, new reporting process appeared, leaving no financial sectors uncovered by the regulators.
Indeed, one major lesson learnt from the crisis is that Financial Regulation is a condition for sustainable competition among the Financial Industry.
Public authorities and the market commonly agreed on a smart regulation, rather than on more regulation, heading towards a system that aims at protecting the investors, the issuers and the industry itself.
Two years after the crisis outburst, this panel will comment on the new regulatory principles and their concrete impact on the economy. Are they respecting the G20 promise as exposed in Pittsburgh: to secure our recovery, and transition to strong, sustainable, and balanced economic growth?
What are the conditions for Europe, US and Asia to converge towards efficient initiatives?
