Since joining Meridiam in 2007, Massimo has been involved in projects in both Europe and North America, including the North Tarrant Expressway and the IH 635 Managed Lanes project in Texas (USA); the Tram-Train Project in La Réunion (France); the Nottingham Express Transit Project (UK); the L2 Motorway Link (France); the R1 Motorway (Slovakia) and the Long Beach Court Building (Ca. USA) refinancings; the equity co-investment and the financing of the North Tarrant Expressway 3a3b in Texas. He is co-ordinating the funding and equity co-investment strategies, establishing innovative solutions, for Meridiam assets in all Regions while managing the relationship with the Markets and Debt Providers.

Prior to joining Meridiam, Massimo was Head of Infrastructure, PPP and Environment at Crédit Agricole’s investment banking arm, Calyon. In this role he was directly involved in the financing, advisory and arranging of large project finance transactions, including the privatisation of Budapest Airport in Hungary, the refinancing of the A19 Motorway in France and the development of the A2 Motorway in Poland and North Brussels Waste-Water Treatment Plant in Belgium. His work also included advising on the A41 Motorway in France in combination with other senior members of the Team, which was later named Project Finance Deal of the Year in 2005 by Project Finance Magazine for its innovative financing structure. Massimo has over 25 years’ experience in the banking and finance sectors having started his career in 1983 with Crédit Lyonnais.

Massimo holds a degree in law from the Università La Sapienza in Rome and has completed post-graduate training in finance at the London Business School.
