Présentation
The European Securities & Markets Authority (ESMA) was created in January 2011 to contribute to safeguarding the stability of the European Union's financial system. ESMA has faced a demanding workload in 2012 as it set out to achieve its key priorities including the single rule book, new supervisory duties, coordination with European and National authorities and dealing with third country regulators). Many regulatory reforms are currently ongoing : EMIR, Financial consumer protection, harmonisationof supervisory practices, CRA Regulation and Supervision, MiFID and Market Abuse Directive Review, AIFMD, Short Selling Regulation. In this context, Ms Verena ROSS will outline ESMA’s achievements in 2012 and the challenges it faces in the coming year. Contribution : 60
