21/11/2016 Labex Réfi

The first event was a Summer School on a Comparative of U.S. and European Financial Regulation that took place from September, 6th to September, 9th. During this event, top academics and senior practitioners talked about several topics like the Global Governance of the Financial System, Basel III, Prudential Rules, the Supervision of Capital Market, Account Principles and Norms. It was a unique opportunity for participants to listen to different points of view from various professional institutions such as Foley & Lardner LLC, Deloitte, MAPI LLC, French Banking Association and academic opinions including LabEx Refi, Pantheon-Sorbonne University, Yale, Columbia or ETH Zurich. The event took place in the Manhattan Office of Foley & Lardner LLP and the closing evening was hosted by Her Excellence Anne-Claire Legendre, Consul General of France in New York.

The following days were dedicated to the First Conference on Quantitative Methods for Financial Regulation. Gael Giraud and Professor Dilip Madan featured keynote presentations. It was a great opportunity for LabEx PhD students to present their research in financial mathematics to a public that included not only academics but also top researchers and leading executives from companies like J.P Morgan, Bloomberg and Citibank. This allowed post-docs and PhD students to enhance their network.
