Donato Messineo is a senior consulting counsel in the Fiscal and Financial Law Division of the IMF Legal Department. Prior to joining the Fund, he worked as a senior counsel at the Bank of Italy and as a legal counsel at the European Central Bank. Additionally, he was a national expert in the Italian delegation to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Working Group V (Insolvency). Prior to this, he worked as a research assistant at the University of Catania. He holds a Ph.D. in Constitutional Law from the University of Ferrara.
